Raheem Sterling left Chelsea by mutual consent to become a free agent.

A club statement said: “Raheem Sterling today left Chelsea Football Club by mutual consent, ending three and a half seasons as our player, having signed in the summer of 2022 when he transferred from Manchester City.

“We thank Raheem for the contribution he made while a Chelsea player and wish him well for the next stage of his career.”

The former England striker last played for Chelsea in May 2024, when he scored his last Premier League goal against Bournemouth.

Sterling, whose contract was due to last 18 months and was worth around £325,000 a week, was linked with a departure during the summer. after being frozen.

He can join a club outside the transfer window as a free agent.

Sterling won the Premier League four times with Manchester City and has 82 caps for England.
